NSU Swim Team Heads to Morris to Battle the Cougars

Morris, Minn.- The Northern State University swim team will take on the University of Minnesota Morris tonight from the UMM Pool at 5:30 p.m.. The team returns to action after splitting in their last two duals, defeating Concordia College 122-82 and falling to MSU Moorhead 78-184.

Northern State has landed first place finishes in the 2015-16 season from Kayla Sproles in the 50 yard free (25.68) and 100 yard free (55.54), and junior Eliza Jacob in the 100 yard breast (1:10.22).

The team has had successful relays in the 800 yard free and the 400 yard free. Katelyn Rhodes, Cassandra Maillet, Eliza Jacob and Kayla Sproles recorded an 8:27.93 finish in the 800 free in the Concordia Moorhead dual, while Kayla Sproles, Maida Walters, Katelyn Rhodes and Cassandra Maillet finished the 400 free with a 3:55.95 final time versus MSU Moorhead.

About the University of Minnesota Morris
In their last competition, the Cougars fell to the University of St. Catherine's by a final score of 133-109. Morris won five of the 13 events in the meet, taking the 200 yard medley, 1,000 yard freestyle, 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard freestyle and the 200 yard freestyle relay. Senior Kaitlin Kamm is returning to action after two individual wins and assisting in a relay victory. The Cougars are led by head coach Dave Molesworth, in his 12th year with the program.
