Box Score Minot, N.D.- The Northern State University soccer team battled in their final game of the season this afternoon against NSIC rival, Minot State University. NSU would eventually fall one goal shy as the match ended with a final score of 1-0, in favor of the Beavers. Minot State improves to 14-3-1 overall and 12-2-1 in NSIC play, while Northern State finishes the 2015 season 8-9-1 overall and 6-8-1 in the conference.
The lone goal of the match came in the 42
nd minute of play as Minot State's Breanne Hatfield connected with sophomore Maritssa Perez on a throw-in. Perez struck a shot low and right of senior goalkeeper,
Brittany Tietz. The Beavers recorded 14 of their 20 shots in the second half of play, however both teams came up empty handed as the game ended 1-0.
Northern State tallied five shots in the match, with
Allie Macdonald and
Anna Woern notching two a piece, and junior
Anna Bondy adding one to the total. Goalkeeper,
Brittany Tietz faced five corner kicks and recorded eight saves, expanding her career save record to 311.
Junior
Anna Bondy, led Northern State in points this season with 24, connecting for 10 goals and adding four assists on the year.
Allie Macdonald, in her last season with the Wolves, recorded six goals and six assists for 18 total points. NSU improved their overall record from the previous year, with help from seniors,
