Aberdeen, S.D.- After wrapping up their first conference home stand of the season last weekend, the Wolves are ready to hit the road once again. The team will head east to take on NSIC rivals, Upper Iowa and Winona State. The Wolves have compiled an overall record of 4-5-1, and remain 2-4-1 in the NSIC this season.
Notable highlights from the Wolves have come from red shirt freshman,
Darian Leschewski and junior,
Anna Bondy as they have both exploded for three-goal hat tricks early in the season. Setting them up for shots has been forward
Allie Macdonald who has now notched five assists on the year. Senior goalkeeper,
Brittany Tietz has been starting in the net for the Wolves for the last seven consecutive matches.
Northern State will face off against Upper Iowa at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Winona State at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
About Upper IowaThe Upper Iowa Peacocks have accumulated an overall record of 4-4-2, and defend a conference record of 3-3-1 on the season. In their ten games, the team has recorded 13 goals. Leading the way for the Peacocks has been senior Maddie Edwards, with 30 total shots, eight goals and a shot percentage of .267. Upper Iowa has finished as one of the top three teams in the NSIC standings the past two consecutive years and are led by third year head coach, Brian Diaz.
About Winona StateThe Winona State Warriors are currently 7-3-0 overall and have maintained a 4-3-0 conference record. At this time, the team is holding a fifth place position in NSIC standings. In the scoring role for the Warriors has been freshman midfielder, Abby Bohanski. Bohanski has six goals, two assists, and a .240 shot percentage for Winona State. Head coach, Ali Omar has led the team to 11 NSIC Championships and six NSIC tournament titles. He returns this season in his 21
st year as head coach for the Warriors.
