Grant Steen at 149 pounds, Sean Havlovic at 157 and Joe Gomez at 197 all picked up wins Wednesday night as the Northern State wrestling team lost to Southwest Minnesota State 31-10 in NSIC action.

Steen's victory over Jake Slocum was a very exciting match that went back-and-forth. Steen picked up a late escape in the third period after allowing Slocum to tie the match at 3-3 with a reversal earlier in the period and was able to hang on for the win.

Havlovic also won a thriller over Patrick Kelley, 4-3 as both wrestlers battled for mat position with Havlovic gaining the advantage late in the match. The win gives Havlovic 10 on the year. Gomez was dominant in his win over Tristan Ezell, winning 14-0 to earn his team-best 16^th win of the season. Gomez started early in the match and piled on the points as it continued to pick up the win.

NSU returns to action tomorrow as Jamestown comes to Wachs Arena for a 7 p.m. match.
