Photo Gallery Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University men's basketball continued their hot streak with a 58-48 victory over Minnesota Crookston. The Wolves move to 17-3 overall and 11-3 in the league.
Northern led the entirety of the game, although the Golden Eagles came within seven late in the second half. The Wolves shot 44.9 percent from the floor, to Minnesota Crookston's 30.8 percent.
Seth Bachand led Northern with 19 points and six boards, as he was 8-for-9 from the floor.
Tydan Storrusten matched Bachand with six rebounds, while adding 12 points of his own in the win. Storrusten went 8-for-9 from the foul line and tallied three assists in the game.
Starters
Mitch White and
DJ Pollard notched seven points and four rebounds apiece for the Wolves, while
Skye Warwick tallied six points and five rebounds. White posted a game leading four assists, and notched one steal for the Wolves.
The Wolves out-rebounded the Golden Eagles 41-26 in the game, scoring 11 points off of 11 offensive boards. NSU took to the paint, tallying 38 points led by Bachand to UMC's 16.
Jake Johnson and
Justin Decker notched two points each in the game, while Decker added five rebounds.
Darin Peterka came off the bench to record five boards, and
Mack Arvidson tallied three points and two rebounds.
The NSU men will be back in action next weekend, as Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul comes to town. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m., Friday against the Mavericks, and 7 p.m., Saturday versus the Golden Bears.
