Live StatsThe Northern State wrestling team returns to action Saturday with four dual matches at the Nebraska-Kearney Midwest Duals. The Wolves (0-3) will face Colorado Mesa, Western State (Colo.), Lindenwood (Mo.) and Newman (Kan.) at the event.
NSU is coming off a 43-3 loss to Augustana Wednesday in Aberdeen.
Sean Havlovic at 157 pounds picked-up the Wolves' lone win in the match as he defeated Shawn Hatlestad 7-0. Havlovic improved his record to 7-4 on the season with the victory.
The Wolves' first match at 9 a.m. will come against Colorado Mesa who is a perfect 5-0 this season in duals. The Mavericks have been impressive this season with a 50-3 win over Sierra, a 40-6 victory over Embry-Riddle, a 35-7 win over San Francisco State, a 24-19 win over No. 15 California Baptist and a 24-12 victory over Chadron State, who defeated NSU earlier this season.
At 11 a.m., the Wolves will face Western State, who is 3-1 on the year with wins over San Francisco State, California Baptist and Grand Canyon. The Mountaineers' lone loss season came to the Air Force Academy.
Northern opens the afternoon with a 2 p.m. match against Lindenwood. The Lions are 4-3 in duals with victories over Fort Hays State, Kutztown, Augustana and McKendree. Lindenwood has losses against Maryville, Mercyhurst and Central Oklahoma.
The Wolves will close the day at 4 p.m. against Newman, who is 1-3 this season. The Jets' lone win on the year came over Indianapolis, 25-21. NU has losses to Findlay, St. Cloud State and Central Oklahoma.
