Soccer Falls to Bearcats in 2014 Season Opener

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University soccer team fell 2-0 to Northwest Missouri State in the season opener. The Wolves look to bounce back this Sunday as they prepare for a match-up with Washburn University.
 
The two teams entered the half with a scoreless ball game. The Bearcats racked up nine shots to the Wolves three in the first 45 minutes, four of which were on goal. Brittany Tietz recorded all four saves for NSU as she made her first start of the season.
 
Anna Bondy led the Northern attack with three shots, two of which were on goal. Allie Macdonald recorded two shots of her own in the game, while Anna Woern, Bobbye Pendleton, and Darian Leschewski each notched one.
 
The Wolves will return to action at home this Sunday as they take on Washburn University at 1 p.m. from Jerde Field. NSU will then travel to South Dakota State University September 11th for their final non-conference game of the season.
