The Northern State volleyball team went on the road and lost a tough, four-set match to Minnesota State Saturday afternoon. Set scores went 25-23, 27-25, 12-25 and 27-25.
Despite out-hitting the Mavericks .217 to .179, the Wolves (8-3, 1-2 NSIC) weren't able to get over the hump Saturday. MSU (7-3, 3-0 NSIC) also had 15 service errors in the match while Northern had seven. The Wolves recorded three aces and the Mavericks had five.
Mandy Kurosky led Northern with 14 kills in the loss while
Cari McGarvie added 13 and a team-best .619 attack percentage.
Kelsey Chambers recorded a team-best 15 digs while
Annika van Oosbree added 14 and
Renee Hoffman had 12 in the back row.
Drew Smith led the Wolves with 47 assists in the loss.
Northern recorded six solo blocks and two blocking assists in the match while MSU had four solo stuff and 10 assists.
NSU looks to get back to its winning ways next week as the Wolves will have three home matches inside Wachs Arena beginning with U-Mary Tuesday at 7 p.m. That match will be broadcast live on ESPN Radio Aberdeen.
