Live StatsThe Northern State volleyball team opens league play Tuesday night as the Wolves host MSU Moorhead in a 7 p.m. match inside Wachs Arena.
NSU and Moorhead split both of last season's meetings, with each team winning at home.
Kelsey Chambers led the Wolves with 21 and 10 kills, respectively in the two matches last season. The Dragons snapped Northern's nine-match winning streak to begin last season with their 3-1 win. NSU would avenge that loss with a sweep later in 2013.
The Dragons are 5-3 on the season and have won 5-of-6 matches heading into the match. MSUM is led by the duo of Abby Wolpern and Kaitlin VanWinkle who lead the team with 107 and 104 kills, respectively. VanWinkle leads the Dragons with a .364 attack percentage while Wolpern is hitting .315 this season.
The Wolves enter the NSIC opener with a 7-1 record and are coming off four consecutive sweeps at last weekend's NSU Dacotah Bank Volleyball Classic. NSU swept Southwest Baptist, St. Cloud State, Minot State and Minnesota, Crookston.

Cari McGarvie and
Drew Smith were named to the all-tournament team with McGarvie taking home MVP honors. McGarvie recorded a total of 37 kills in the four matches while also leading the team with an outstanding .540 hitting percentage. McGarvie also led the team with 20 total blocks and recorded six service aces. Chambers and Biach recorded 48 and 38 kills, respectively while Smith averaged 14.1 assists per set and had 32 digs.
Tuesday's match will also be the first of five to be broadcast live on ESPN Radio Aberdeen. Prematch coverage begins at 6:40 p.m. on 1420 AM and 107.1 FM.
