Live VideoAberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University soccer team is set to begin the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference season this Sunday from home. The Wolves will face off against MSU Moorhead in a 3 p.m. match-up from Jerde Field.
NSU is currently 1-2 on the year after loses to Northwest Missouri State and South Dakota State University, as well as a win against Washburn University. Wolves' sophomore
Anna Bondy leads the team with three goals on the year which have come in the team's last two contests.
Kay Hernandez boasts a goal as well on the year. Northern keeper
Brittany Tietz has recorded 18 saves in the three games.
About MSU Moorhead The Dragons return leading scorer Erin Nyberg and goal keeper Ashley Leintz from 2013. MSUM returns 13 players and nine starters from their 2013 campaign, where the squad went 0-17-0. In 2014, the Dragons started the season with a 1-0 victory over Washburn University. They are currently 1-1 on the year as they head into NSIC play.
Last Season Northern took the 2013 contest with a score of 1-0 from the Dragons in overtime.
Kay Hernandez scored the lone goal for NSU, as the team racked up 32 shots and 16 shots on goal.
Brittany Tietz notched three saves in the game which marked third shut-out of the year.
