The Northern State men's basketball team went on a 15-3 run over the final 4:35 to pull away late from Jamestown 88-71 Monday night at Wachs Arena. The win moves the Wolves to 6-1 overall on the season and is the final non-conference game for NSU this year.

All five Wolves starters scored in double figures in the win and were led by Skye Warwick's 22, which ties a career-high for him. Darin Peterka had a great all-around game as he added 17 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals in the contest. Mitch White added 14 points and five assists while Seth Bachand added 11 points, a game-high nine rebounds and two blocks and Tydan Storrusten scored 10 points and dished-out a season-best seven assists in the win.

As a team, the Wolves shot a season-high 56.7 percent (34-for-60) from the floor and hit 9-of-24 (37.5 percent) from three-point range. Warwick made six of the nine from long range. The Jimmies shot 52 percent in the game and went 10-for-21 (47.6 percent) from beyond the arc.

Northern led almost the entire game, but couldn't shake free of the Jimmies until the final minutes. The Wolves led by 12 points twice in the first half, but every time they extended the lead to double digits, Jamestown would hit a couple of timely buckets to narrow the deficit. NSU led at the break 44-37.

In the second half, Jamestown kept the score around single digits for most of the half, and cut the Northern lead to just four on three separate occasions. After they cut the lead to 73-68 with 6:09 left to play, Jamestown didn't get another basket until the final three seconds of the game.

Northern controlled the paint as it held a 34-22 rebounding edge and a 40-24 advantage in points in the paint. The Wolves also outscored UJ 12-5 in second-chance points. NSU scored 18 points off of 19 Jimmies turnovers while Jamestown scored 16 off 15 Northern miscues.

NSU returns to action this weekend as it hosts U-Mary and Minot State to finish its seven game homestand. Mary comes to Wachs Arena for an 8 p.m. contest Friday while the Minot matchup begins at 7 p.m. Saturday.
