Aberdeen, S.D. - The No. 12 Northern State University women's basketball team captures their sixth straight victory of the year, with an 87-55 defeat of Mayville State. The Wolves are a perfect 6-0 heading into the NSIC conference opener Saturday versus MSU Moorhead.

Rachel Krogman led the Wolves with 15 points, 7-for-9 from the floor, and eight rebounds on the night. Krogman is 11 points away from reach 1,000 for her career. Sadie Stotesbery matched Krogman with eight rebounds, while adding 14 points of her own in the win. Paige Waytashek was the final NSU starter to record double-digit scores on the night with 13 points. Waytashek was 3-for-4 from three-point range, lifting the Wolves to a season high team percentage of 42.1 from the arch.

Northern scored a season high 35 points off the bench, led by Alexis Tappe and Lauren Deadrick with seven a piece. Miranda Ristau was close behind with six points in ten minutes of play. The Wolves out-rebounded the Comets 49-39. Megan Mutchler led the team with 11 rebounds in the win. A total of 22 offense rebounds led to a season high 30 second chance points for NSU. The Wolves bread and butter, of strong post play, tallied 36 points in the paint in the win.

Defensively NSU recorded 35 team points off 23 forced MSU turnovers. Northern looks to improve a season low 48.6 free-throw percentage. Northern led the entirety of the game, scoring 49 points in the first half of play.
