Allie Macdonald broke through in the first overtime period to lead the Wolves to a 1-0 victory over University of Sioux Falls. The one goal win snapped the teams previous five game loss streak. The Wolves improve to 5-10 overall and 3-6 in the league, with two games remaining in regular season play.
Macdonald, along with
Anna Bondy led the Northern offense with three shots and two shots on goal each. Allie was able to connect with net for the third time this season, assisted by
Shayli Kirsch on the play. Kirsch sent in a through ball, picked up Macdonald 12 yards out, who finished the play with her right foot just shy of seven minutes into the first period of overtime. The assist marks Kirsch's first of her career.
Northern totaled 11 team shots, seven of which were on frame.
Brittany Tietz was back to her saving ways, racking up seven in the game. Tietz faced 19 Cougar shots and three corner kicks. The victory marks her third shutout of the season.

With a great start to the weekend, Northern heads to Marshall to take on the Mustangs of Southwest Minnesota State, in Sunday soccer play. Game time is set for 1 p.m. from the Schwan Regional Event Center. The Mustangs are coming off a 2-1 win against MSU Moorhead.
