Live StatsThe Northern State football team returns to Swisher Field Saturday as the Wolves host St. Cloud State in a 1 p.m. contest. NSU enters the game 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the NSIC North while the Huskies are 3-4 on the season and 2-1 in the division.
The Wolves saw their three-game win streak snapped last Saturday at No. 2 Minnesota Duluth, losing 43-30. NSU's four turnovers proved to be costly in the loss as it led to 14 UMD points. The Bulldogs had just one turnover.
Quarterback
Jared Jacobson passed for 408 yards and three touchdowns in the game. Three Northern receivers went for over 100 yards receiving in the game.
Jared Hannigan caught a career-high 11 passes for 152 yards while
Zachery Barber and
Cody Kraft each caught six passes for 111 and 105 yards, respectively and each caught a touchdown. Defensively,
Joe Parsley led the team with nine tackles and
Ryan Weybrecht recorded 1.5 sacks.
About the HuskiesSt. Cloud is third in the NSIC in rushing offense averaging 211.3 yards per game. Ledell White leads the team with 645 yards rushing and six touchdowns. Kenneth Walker has rushed for 431 yards and four scores on the year while quarterback Nate Meyer has five rushing TDs. Meyer has also passed for 988 yards and nine touchdowns through the air. Walker is second in the league averaging 145 all-purpose yards per game.
Grant Thayer leads the Huskies with four receiving touchdowns while Matt Hentges leads the team with 20 catches. On defense, SCSU is led by Adam Josephson's 56 tackles on the year, which ranks 16
th in the league. St. Cloud is led by seventh-year head coach Scott Underwood.
Last season, the Huskies advanced the furthest amongst NSIC teams in the NCAA Division II Playoffs, making it to the quarterfinal round before losing to eventual National Champion Northwest Missouri State.

The SeriesSt. Cloud leads the all-time series 16-13-2. Northern won 28-27 in 2012 at Swisher Field on a last-second, 34-yard touchdown pass.
ForecastSaturday should be a beautiful day as temperatures will be in the mid-to-high-60s with sunny skies and low winds.
PromotionsSaturday will be Military Appreciation Day at Swisher Field. All current and former military members will gain free admission to the contest with a military ID. Saturday will also be the Pink-Out game at NSU as October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Northern State athletes and coaches will be dressed in pink attire and fans are encouraged to do the same in promotion of this cause.
Former NSU Head Coach Ken Heupel will also be recognized at halftime of the game. Coach Heupel led the Wolves to their last NSIC Title in 1999 and last post-season appearance (2004 Mineral Water Bowl). His 44 victories are the fourth-most in Northern history.
