Aberdeen, S.D.Alyssa Wilde connected for her first goal of the season, however it was not enough to push the Wolves past the No. 22 Winona State Warriors. WSU took the game with a score of 2-1. Northern drops to 4-8 overall and 3-6 in Northern Sun soccer play.

The Warriors scored in each half keeping the Northern defense on their toes throughout the game. NSU keeper Brittany Tietz recorded three saves in the loss, while fighting off many troublesome Warrior crosses. Northern compiled nine total shots in the game, with Wilde's score being the only on goal.

NSU was led by Anna Bondy who took three shots in the match-up. Andrea Boisner, Allie Macdonald, and Wilde each notched two shots as well. With the Wolves down by two, and the second half dwindling down, Tessa Lander took possession for Northern. Lander spotted Wilde up field, and sent her a seeking ball to the top of the box. Wilde connected for a first goal of a season, a ball to the opposite post just past the WSU keeper.

Northern will be back in action next weekend as they travel to Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston. Game times are slated for 1 p.m. each day.
