Live Stats Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University soccer team returns home for its final full weekend of NSIC home play. The Wolves are set to match-up with Upper Iowa University and Winona State University. Game times are set for 1 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday from Jerde Field. Web Cast will be available both days, however only for the first half of play Saturday due to NSU home event conflicts. NSU sits at 4-6 overall and 3-4 in the Northern Sun.
The Wolves enter the weekend after a 1-1 record on the road against Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State Mankato. Northern started the weekend off with a 2-0 victory over the CU Golden Bears. The win marked
Brittany Tietz's second shutout of the season.
Kay Hernandez and
Tessa Lander were the goal scorers in the game, with assists by
Anna Bondy and
Andrea Boisner. Tietz continued her great weekend for the Wolves racking up career high 12 saves against MSU. She is currently second in the league with total saves.
About Upper Iowa The Peacocks are currently on a five game win streak, with a conference record of 5-2. Their two losses have come against Winona State and Augustana College. Upper Iowa sits fifth overall in the Northern Sun standings. UIU is led by Madie Edwards with five goals on the year, followed by Amiee Wronski with three. Peacock keeper Kaitlyn Emanuel has recorded 49 total saves on the year, with two shutouts.
Last Season The Wolves fell to the Peacocks in 2013, with a score of 3-0. The Wronski sisters combined for all UIU goals in the win against NSU keeper

About Winona State The No. 22 Warriors are 6-1 in Northern Sun play, with their one loss coming to Augustana College. WSU sits second in the NSIC standings just behind Minnesota State. Darian Molter leads the Winona attack with four goals and one assist. Three other Warriors have recorded double digit goals this season. Keeper Rachel Oleson has notched 43 saves, playing every minute for Winona State. Oleson has recorded a league high five shutouts in 2014.
