Krogman's Career High Vaults Wolves to Victory

Crookston, Minn. – The Northern State University women's basketball team sealed their eighth straight win in tonight's match-up with Minnesota Crookston. The 69-60 victory, was led by Rachel Krogman with a career high 25 points and 13 rebounds on the night for her first double-double of 2014. The Wolves improve to 13-2 overall and 9-2 in the NSIC.

Krogman was back in action for the Wolves on the night after having a tough weekend scoring a week ago, going 60 percent from the floor. She was the only player for both rosters that reached double-digit rebounds. Krogman, as well as Sadie Stotesbery tallied three assists in the game; while Stotesbery led the team with two blocks.

Both Alison Kusler and Megan Mutchler added double-digit points on the night with 15 and 14 respectively. The duo combined for 11 total rebounds as well. Kusler continued to shoot well from the line going a perfect 7-7 in the contest.

The Wolves led all but three minutes of the entire game, shooting 44.4 percent from field goal range. Rebounding continued to be Northern's strength this season, as they out-rebounded UMC 41-31. The squad also scored 11 points off of 10 offensive rebounds. A high turnover game from both ends of the ball resulted in 12 NSU points off 17 Golden Eagle turnovers.

Northern now directs their attention to Saturday play as they travel to take on the Beavers of Bemidji State University. The two teams are set to tip-off at 4 p.m. from the campus of BSU. Earlier this season the Wolves came out on top in Aberdeen with a score of 66-53.
