The Northern State wrestling team dropped its NSIC-opening dual Saturday night to MSU Moorhead 27-16. The match was held at Aberdeen Central High School. Northern drops to 2-2 in duals this season.

At 165 pounds Blake Lundgren continued his good weekend for the Wolves as he picked up his second pin of the week. Lundgren stopped Moorhead's Shawn Porter at the three minute mark of their match. Sean Havlovic at 157 also had a great match for NSU. Havlovic won by major decision over Connor MacGregor 13-3.

Cody Voegeli (133) and Joe Gomez (197) also won Saturday for the Wolves. Voegeli picked up a 2-0 decision over Moorhead's Shane Novak while Gomez defeated Tyler Schlosser 8-3.

The Dragons (4-4, 1-0 NSIC) got a pair of six-point wins in the dual via injury default and forfeit at 125 and 174.

Northern returns to action next Saturday as the Wolves travel to Kearney, Neb., for the Nebraska-Kearney Duals. The day will begin at 9 a.m.
