Box Score
Wayne, Neb. - The Northern State University Women's Soccer team has secured their fifth victory of the season with a 5-3 win over Wayne State College. The Wildcats slide to 0-5 on the year and 0-2 in NSIC play as the Wolves climb to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the loop. NSU is off to its best start since 2005 where the Wolves also had a five goal game winner versus Wayne State in the fifth game of the season.

Allie MacDonald was the story of the afternoon for the Wolves coming out hot to start off each period. She netted the first goal for NSU just 59 seconds into the first period of the game. Just seven minutes later Senior Khachirha Tugas scored her second of the season with a double assist from Andrea Boisner and Kay Hernandez. At 13:30 Anna Bondy scored for the Wolves, assisted by Hernandez with her second of the night, putting the Wolves up by three moving into the end of the half.

In show stopping fashion, Macdonald would score again to start the half for Northern, this time just 54 seconds in on a serve from Tugas. The two teams played nearly 20 minutes before Laura Linscheid scored the final goal of the game for her team with an assist from Freshman Cyndey Martin. NSU held the 5-0 led for only minutes when the Wildcats scored their first of the game at 67:29. Wayne State added two more in the half but was not able to top the five goal game of the Wolves.

Northern outshot Wayne by only one in the game totaling 12 shots, eight of which were on goal. NSU goalkeeper Brittany Tietz tallied her fifth win of the year allowing three goals and notching four saves in the game.

The Wolves will travel to Sioux Falls tomorrow to take on the Vikings of Augustana College. Game time is set for 1 p.m. between the two teams.
