Moorhead, Minn. – The Northern State University Women's Soccer team continued its hot streaking defeating Minnesota State University Moorhead in a one to nothing, two over time battle. The Wolves climb to 4-0 on the year, 1-0 in NSIC play, while the Dragons drop to 0-3 and 0-1 in the league.
In 113 minutes of play NSU outshot MSUM 32 to nine. Northern was led by
Allie Macdonald with six total shots on the afternoon, closely followed by
Cydney Martin with five. Just minutes after the second overtime began, freshman
Kay Hernandez scored her first career goal for the Wolves. Hernandez was assisted by
Anna Bondy on the play who had four shots in the game as well.
Seventeen of the Wolves roster took the field in the win. Sophomore goalkeeper,
Brittany Tietz, recorded her fourth win of the season in the three save shutout.
Northern will continue the opening section of the conference season on the road as they take on Wayne State and Augustana, September 21
st and 22
nd. Game times are set for 1 p.m. each day from Wayne, Neb. and Sioux Falls, S.D.
