Wolves Defeated in Last Regular Season Contest

Box Score Aberdeen, S.D. - In the last night of regular season play, Northern State University was not able to secure the victory against University of Mary with a score of 68-62.

The Wolves now fall to 15-11 for the season and 11-11 in the NSIC, as the Marauders climb to 18-10 overall and 13-9 in the loop. Junior Alison Kusler paced NSU with 17 total points and nine rebounds.

Northern out-rebounded Mary 46-44, while committing less turnovers on the night and scoring 14 points off of 12 Marauders turnovers. The Wolves also led in offensive rebounds scoring 14 points off of 16 rebounds.

The Mary attack was paced by 8 three's on the night and 19 points off the bench. Shaunna Knife led the team with 19 points and a game high six assists. Laura Peterson had a game high 11 rebounds while also adding 13 points for the Marauders.

With 1:25 left to go in the game the Wolves were down by two, 62-60. The Wolves however were not able to secure the comeback, with only on score by Sami Smith with only six seconds to go. Sophomore Rachel Krogman had a total 13 points and nine rebounds in the effort.

The Wolves will be back in action for the first round of conference tournament play Wednesday from Wachs Arena. Northern secured the No. 4 spot taking on No. 5 Wayne State with tip off at 6 p.m..
