Physical Battle Sides With Beavers, Wolves Fall 50-60

Aberdeen, S.D. - A 39 point second half proppelled Minot State over Northern State University in Friday night's conference match-up, 50-60. A very physical battle by both teams resulted in a cobined 26 turnovers on the night.

The Beavers improve to 13-12 on the season, 9-12 in the conference, while the Wolves slide to 12-10 overall and 11-10 in league play. 

Megan Mutchler was the top scorer for the Wolves with 12 points and eight rebounds. Alison Kusler and Sami Smith both went 2-4 for three point range. Although NSU led at the half, 25-21, they were not able to fight off the Beaver attack who pulled in 37 rebounds.

Carly Boag led the Beavers with a whopping 18 rebounds on the night and nine total points. Sacarra Molina and Alisha Jones also added 15 and 16 points respectively in the win. 

Senior Sarah Hintz added nine points and seven rebounds for the Wolves. As a team, Northern scored 15 second chance points to Minot's mear seven. The Beavers out-shot the Wolves 46.9 percent to 30.0 percent. Sixteen bench points were the keys for Minot in the win. 

The Wolves return back in action for the last regular season conference match-up against University of Mary, Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. from the Aberdeen Civic Arena.
