Bismarck, N.D. - With their second loss in as many days, Northern State University fell to University of Mary 87-83 in Saturday NSIC play. The Wolves not sit at 5-2 on the year and 1-2 in the conference, while the Marauders improve to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the league.

The Wolves entered the half down by ten, however were able to come back with 48 points in the second half. NSU was led by
Rachel Krogman with 22 points and seven rebounds.
Alison Kusler added 18 points in the game, while going 5-6 from the free throw line. All five starters for NSU recorded double-digit points on the night.
Megan Mutchler tallied 14 points with six rebounds, while
Devon Brecke added 13 points and nine rebounds. Freshman
Paige Waytashek was 5-6 from the free-throw line scoring a total of 11 points in the game, six coming from three point range.

Down by seven with a minute and thirty left in the game, NSU was able to come back after nine points from Krogman. Fouls however however led to four made free throws by the Marauders to take the 85-83 led with only 18 seconds remaining. Two made free-throws after a
Kara Hofschild foul led to the four point victory by Mary.

The women were unable to garner a lead throughout the game, while U-Mary was up by an alarming 17 points just three minutes into the second half. Northern scored a dismal five bench points while giving up a season high 14 turnovers. The Marauders scored a total of 16 points off the NSU turnovers, while also racking up 19 points off the bench. NSU did see stellar play in the paint as they recorded a season high of 32 points.

Northern will return home next weekend as they take on Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State with game times set for 6 p.m. and 5 p.m. respectively from Wachs Arena.
