Aberdeen, S.D. - The Northern State University Women's Basketball team will continue their NSIC road trip this weekend as they travel to Minto State University (12/6) and University of Mary (12/7). Game times are set for 6 p.m. and 4 p.m. respectively between the two teams.
NSU is off to a hot start winning their last five games and remaining 5-0 on the year and 1-0 in the NSIC. The Wolves match-up with the Beavers will mark Head Coach
Curt Fredrickson's 1,000 career game at Northern. Keep an eye out for senior
Alison Kusler as she nears 1,000 career points for the Wolves (currently at 882). Northern has done well this season cutting down team turnovers and continuing to be agressive off the glass. Solid bench play has also been key with numerous players adding crucial points in the game.
Minot State University
The Beavers return seven from a year go while losing three key starters. Junior Christine Boag is back in the line-up after an injury put her on the bench last season. Minot is off to an impressive 5-0 start after their first conference win of the season over U-Mary.
Last Season
The Beavers and Wolves split a season ago with score of 72-57 (NSU) and 50-60 (Minot).
Megan Mutchler recorded her previous career high of 23 points in the win. Northern was able to contain Beaver standout Carly Boag and must do so again this season.
University of Mary
The Maruaders fell to Minot in the opening weekend of the NSIC season with a score of 72-79. Mary graduated four starters from a season ago, two of which being 1,000 pt. career shooters. The 2013-14 squad has added eight players in total, with three junior college transfers.
Last Season
The Wolves fell to the Marauders twice last season with scores of 66-78 and 62-68. Although multiple NSU players were in double digit points, poor shooting as a team contributed to the losses.
