Aberdeen, S.D. – Winning by a staggering 80 points, the Northern State University Swim team topped Concordia College of Moorhead 145-60 in team action. The Wolves are now 3-1 versus meet opponents and continuing to swim strongly.
As a team NSU finished first in ten of the 11 events on the night. With little break between competitions the women are training hard and making significant gains across the board. Eight different Wolves recorded a first place finish against the Cobbers, while seven different women recorded a second place finish. Northern finished in both first and second in four races total; the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, and 400 freestyle relay. NSU also racked up places 1-3 in both the 400 individual medley and 100 butterfly.

Eliza Jacob led the team winning all three races they competed in. Gunning took the 400 individual medley (4:52.78) and the 100 butterfly (1:00.24); Peterson took the 200 freestyle (2:03.74) and the 100 freestyle (55.94); Jacob took the 100 breaststroke (1:13.08) and was a member of the first place 400 freestyle relay (3:53.40). All three women were members of Northern's opening win in the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:10.52.

Amanda Taylor (400 medley relay and 100 backstroke),
Katelyn Rhodes (1,000 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay),
Mikaela Waiflein (500 freestyle),
Kaitey Springer (400 freestyle relay), and
Brianna Iverson (400 freestyle relay). With a difference of 0.21
Ashley LaFave took second for NSU in the 50 freestyle.

Elizabeth Cvrk added points on the day in the team win with their efforts. The Wolves placed a number of season bests in the meet.
Northern will be back in the pool next Friday (11/15) from Minnesota Morris beginning at 5 p.m.. This meet will come just two weeks after the Wolves defeated the Cougars 267-116.
