Aberdeen, S.D. – Taking their win streak to three games, the Northern State University Women's basketball team defeated Central Methodist University 56-43 from Wachs Arena. The Wolves are now 3-0 on the year, while handing the Eagles their first loss of the season (6-1).

Rachel Krogman led the Wolves with her second double-double of the season scoring 12 points and bringing down 13 rebounds. Krogman shot a perfect 6-6 from the line leading the team to an 82.4 free throw percentage. Alison Kusler led the team in scoring with 13 points on the night, going 5-6 from the line while adding two threes on the afternoon. Kusler also recorded six rebounds, five of which were defensive.

The two teams entered the half with NSU up 32-17, after going on a seven point streak. Northern added 24 points in half two to take the victory. As a team the Wolves held leading Eagle point scorer Morgan Vetter, who averages 19.2 points, to only three in the game. Vetter is also the leading three point shooter for CMU and was unable to connect for any on the night. Outstanding defense by NSU proved key as the Eagles shot a mere 8.3% from three point range.

The Wolves scored 16 second chance points off their 15 team offensive rebounds, while out-rebounding the Eagles 44-41. Sadie Stotesbery added 10 rebounds and seven points coming up just short of her first double-double of the season. Stotesbery notched four, of the teams seven, blocks in the game playing a total of 33 minutes. Only one CMU player recorded double digit points in the game.

NSU will continue the home stand Monday (11/25) for the first men's and women's double header of the 2013-14 season, as the Wolves match-up against NAIA opponent Mayville State University. Game time is set for 6 p.m. between the Wolves and Comets.
