Volleyball Travels to Augustana to Open NSIC Tournament

22nd-ranked Northern State (21-6) earned the No. 5 seed of the US Bank/NSIC Tournament and will travel to face fourth-seeded Augustana (22-7) Wednesday in a 6 p.m. match. The winner of Wednesday's match will face the winner of top-seeded Concordia-St. Paul and No. 8 seed Minnesota Crookston on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 3 p.m.

This will be the third meeting this season between Northern and the Vikings. Augustana swept the Wolves in both meetings this season and therefore owned the tie-breaker over NSU since both teams finished with a 14-6 record in NSIC play.
Northern is currently the eighth seed in the NCAA Central Regional Rankings, Augustana sits at No. 7 in the poll. The Wolves are 1-1 under Head Coach Brent Aldridge in the NSIC Tournament.

The three winners of the NSIC, Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, and Great American Conference tournaments will earn automatic bids to the NCAA Central Region Tournament. The next five slots will be awarded to the highest remaining teams in the NCAA Central Region Rankings.

Tickets for Wednesday's match can be purchased at the door of the Elmen Center in Sioux Falls. Adult tickets cost $10, $8 for senior citizens, $2 for students and children five and under get in free.
