Fayette, Iowa - The Northern State University Soccer team suffered its third loss, and second shutout, of the season to Upper Iowa with a score of 3-0. The Peacocks improve to 7-3 on the year and 5-1 in the NSIC, while the Wolves drop to 6-3 overall and an even .500, at 3-3, in the league.
The two teams were scoreless through the first half on Saturday play. Peacock veteran Amiee Wronksi, the NSIC's leading scorer, opened up the scoring with two goals in the half. Northern was unable to rally back with only nine shots in the game, two of which were on goal.
Shaina Stein returned to the goal for the Wolves tallying five saves on the day against a sharp shooting UI offense.
NSU will travel tomorrow to take on Winona State University with a 1 p.m. game start from Winona, Minn. The Warriors are currently hold a 5-2-2 record after defeating MSU Moorhead earlier today.
