Saturday marks the 94
th annual Gypsy Days game at Northern State University. The Wolves will face off with MSU Moorhead beginning at 2:30 p.m. from Swisher Field. The first Gypsy Days was played in 1916, with no games played in 1918, '43 and '44 due to World War I and II.
Setting the Stage

Tom Dosch. Northern defeated Moorhead in last season's meeting in Minnesota, winning 45-7. Quarterback
Jared Jacobson passed for 280 yards and three scores in the win while
John Hughes rushed for 79 yards and two scores. The NSU defense forced two interceptions and recorded seven sacks in the game.
The Wolves are 27-21-1 all-time against the Dragons and have won the last four meetings in the series dating back to 2008 when MSUM won 29-26 in Moorhead.
Scouting the Dragons
MSU Moorhead comes into Saturday's contest with an o-4 record. The Dragons lost a heartbreaker last weekend to Concordia-St. Paul 36-34. Moorhead is currently ninth in the NSIC in scoring, averaging 26 points per game. The Dragons return their leading receiver from 2012 in Adam Jiskra. Jiskra is currently third in the league averaging 94 yards receiving per game. Aaron Bohl leads the Dragons' defense. Bohl is averaging just over seven tackles per contest.
Wolves Notes
Northern will look to get back to its winning ways at Swisher Field Saturday. Prior to its loss to Upper Iowa Sept. 21, the Wolves had won five consecutive home games. Despite not recording a 100 percent red zone efficiency last week for the first time all year, NSU still leads the league in red zone percentage at 91 (10-for-11) percent. The mark also ranks 14
th nationally.
Connor Doherty is second in the league amongst tight ends with 178 yards receiving this season. Doherty leads the Wolves with 15 catches this year.
The Wolves pass defense has been stingy all season long. NSU currently ranks second in the NSIC and 22
nd in the country in defensive pass efficiency at 106.7. The Wolves are also 30
th in the nation in passing yards allowed per game with 185.3.
