Aberdeen, S.D. - The Northern State University Soccer team will the concluding section of the NSIC season from home this weekend as they take on Southwest Minnesota State University and the University of Sioux Falls. The Wolves are currently eighth in the conference with a 6-5-1 season record and a 3-5-1 conference record. As we close in on the end of the regular season, the top eight teams from the NSIC will enter the conference tournament. NSU has six more games to secure their bid.
Northern will begin the weekend Saturday will a noon game against the USF Cougars from Jerde Field. The Cougars sit well below the Wolves at the bottom of the conference with only one NSIC win. Sioux Falls as a 2013 record of 1-10-1 overall and 1-7-1 in the NSIC.
NSU will cap off the weekend Sunday with a 1 p.m. match-up against the SMSU Mustangs from Jerde Field. The Mustangs have seen spots in the 25 throughout the 2013 season as they currently sit 11-1 overall and 8-1 in the leagues. Southwest is currently 2nd in the conference just behind Minnesota State.
