BILLINGS, Mont. - The fifth-ranked Colorado School of Mines Orediggers notched four scores in each half to take an 8-0 win over the Northern State Wolves in non-conference women's soccer action. The Orediggers, who advanced to the Elite Eight round of last season's NCAA tournament before losing in a shootout, rebounded from a season-opening stunner to Montana State Billings to even their season record out at 1-1. NSU slipped to 0-2 overall.
CSM used a solid defensive effort to limit NSU to just one shot on goal, that from junior
Tia Lopez off the bench.
Dani Hering had two goals and two assists for the Orediggers, while Megan Woodworth had one goal and an assist in the first half. Kendra Bulawa also notched a pair of assists.
NSU returns home to host Jamestown College Wednesday evening in its final non-conference tune-up before diving into Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play on Sunday. Wednesday's contest is slated to kick off at 6 p.m. at Jerde Field.
