Wolves Fall 3-0 to Montana State - Billings

, Mont. – The Northern State soccer team wound up on the short end of the 2012 season opener, falling to Montana State-Billings 3-0 as part of the MSUB Cup.  NSU falls to 0-1 on the year, while the host Yellowjackets improved to 2-0 on the year.

MSU-Billings scored in the 41st minute of the second half on the first of two Jennifer Larsen goals.  Larson also stuck on in the net less than two minutes into the second period, while Alisa Sagdahl tallied the third Yellowjacket score in the 77th minute of play.

NSU senior Rachel Goslinga accounted for two of the Wolves' three shots on goal, as a stingy MSUB defense limited the Wolves to just four total shots, all in the first period.
 
The Wolves will face Colorado School of Mines on Sunday beginning at 2 p.m.  The Orediggers were eliminated in the Elite Eight round of the NCAA tournament last season and are ranked fifth in the nation entering the match.  CSM suffered an upset on Friday after falling by a 1-0 score to MSUB.
