ABERDEEN, S.D. – With spring football and a pair of baseball and softball doubleheaders on tap for the weekend, the Northern State athletic department invites Wolves fans and the Aberdeen community to a slew of activities on all three days.

The annual spring football game kicks off the weekend as the Wolves take the field for an intra-squad situation-based scrimmage.  Pre-game festivities begin at 4:30 at Swisher Field, including kids' games and food for fans with the on-field action set to begin at 6 p.m.  The NSU sports marketing class will also hold a half-time competition during the intermission.

The NSU baseball program is set to host Wayne State in a four-game Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference weekend series beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday.  Pre-game activities – which include a bean bag tournament and free food for fans – begins at 11 a.m. in the parking lot at Fossum Field.  More information about the tournament can be had by contacting Jeb Clay at jeb.clay@wolves.northern.edu.  The Wolves take the field for a 12 p.m. first pitch against the Wildcats.  Both teams will take the field on Sunday for two more games, again beginning at noon.

The NSU softball team is also set for a key weekend of NSIC play, hosting Winona State on Saturday and Upper Iowa on Sunday.  First pitch at Moccasin Creek Complex is slated for noon both days, with limited edition replica batting helmets with ice cream given away on Sunday.

Due to limited equipment, the NSU baseball games on Saturday will be webcast live from Fossum Field, while live stats will be available for the softball games.  On Sunday, baseball will have live statistics available, while the streaming webcast will come from Moccasin Creek and the softball games.
