BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Bemidji State Beavers used an early first half goal and seven saves by goaltender Sonja Barr to hold off a strong Northern State push Sunday afternoon, taking a 1-0 win over the Wolves in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference soccer action.
BSU scored the game's only goal in the 11th minute of play on Maria Mcleod's second goal of the year.
NSU continued to put pressure on the Beavers all game long, outshooting their opponents 18-8 overall and 7-3 in shots on goal. Senior
Rachel Goslinga had six of those shots and
Amber Wanous added four. Both players had two on frame, but could not find a way to push one past the line.
NSU remains on the road next weekend to face Southwest Minnesota State and Sioux Falls in another NSIC weekend of play. Both matches will begin at 1 p.m.
