BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Northern State football squad is riding a three-game win streak after last week's Gypsy Days win over Minot State.  This week, the Wolves turn their attention to Bemidji State, a team they stunned last season with a 14-0 shutout at home.  This year's match-up sends the Wolves to Chet Anderson Stadium for a 1 p.m. kick-off.

Setting the Stage:
• Northern State takes a 3-3 record, an unblemished 2-0 divisional mark and a three-game win streak into this week's meeting with Bemidji State.  The Beavers are also 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the North.  For the second week in a row, the Wolves will face a team fresh off a win over U-Mary.

Last Meeting:
• The Northern State Wolves overcame three blocked field goal attempts and a 2-for-7 showing in red zone chances with two big defensive interceptions, a blocked punt and a fourth quarter flea flicker that all but sealed the game as they downed the visiting Beavers 14-0 in last season's meeting.  BSU had been ranked in three previous Top 25 polls and was receiving votes at the time of the NSU victory.  The win marked the start of a three-game win streak for the Wolves to end the 2011 season.

About the Beavers:
• Bemidji State opened the season with a narrow 25-23 win over Upper Iowa before losing three straight to teams that were receiving votes in the AFCA Top 25 poll.  The Beavers have since won two straight to open North Division play, a 35-2 home win over Minnesota, Crookston and last week's road win over U-Mary.
• The Beavers were picked sixth overall in the NSIC Preseason Coaches Poll and third in the North Division poll.
• Tight End Brian Leonhardt is a preseason All-American for the Beavers.

Last Week:
• NSU won its third straight game last week and now stands at .500 for the first time under head coach Tom DoschJared Jacobson threw for 330 yards and four touchdowns - both career highs - to lead the Wolves to a 31-17 win over Minot State.
• BSU fended off a fourth quarter U-Mary rally to hold on to a 29-21 victory last week in Bismarck.  The Beavers led 29-7 going into the fourth quarter, before a pair of U-Mary touchdowns cut it to a one-possession game.  Lance Rongstand threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

The series:
• Last season's NSU victory evened the overall series out at 17-17-1.  Prior to the Wolves win in 2011, NSU had not beaten the Beavers since 2004.

Time & Temp:
• Saturday's forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 50s. Winds from the southeast at 5-10 mph and a 20 percent chance of rain showers.

About the NSIC:
• The NSIC has expanded once more in 2012 with the addition of Sioux Falls and Minot State as full-fledged members in the now 16-team league.  The institutions are the fifth and sixth additional members since the league expanded from 10 to 14 in 2008.
