Mankato, Minn. – The Northern State (4-4-0, 1-2-0 NSIC) suffered their second conference loss on the season against Minnesota State (5-1-1, 3-0-0 NSIC) in Mankato, Minn. on Saturday dropping a 5-0 decision to the first place Mavericks.
The Mavericks got things started 23 minutes into the match when Brittany Henry scored her fifth goal on the season.
Minnesota State would score once more in the first frame when Brianne West found an open Emily Moris to open up to a 2-0 lead.
In the second half, the Mavericks would score three more times bringing the final score to 5-0.
The Mavericks had 23 shots in the match, placing 10 on goal. Freshman Goalkeeper
Shaina Stein had five saves. The Wolves had four shots, placing two on the net.
Liz Royce and
Rachel Goslinga each had two shots, while they both placed one of them on net.
The Wolves return to action on Sunday to face the Mustangs of Southwest Minnesota State in a 1 p.m. match in Marshall, Minn.
