Marshall, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University Mustangs (4-3-0, 3-1-0 NSIC) picked up their first conference weekend sweep since 2008, with the final victory of the weekend coming against the Northern State Wolves (3-4-0, 1-3-0 NSIC). The Mustangs scored right out of the game as they scored a 3-0 victory over the Wolves.
Just 3:27 into the game, Vanesa Corona scored an unassisted goal for the Mustangs to grab a quick lead.
In the 54th minute of action, Corona scored again, this time on a pass from Kelly Fitzgerald. A third insurance goal was added in the 86th minute of play, this time with the combination flip-flopped and Fitzgerald scoring off a pass from Corona.
The Wolves had plenty of opportunities to score, as the Wolves had 18 shots with ten of them on goal. The Mustangs had 12 shots, with eight of them landing on goal.
Junior
Rachel Goslinga lead the Wolves with four shots, having three of them land on goal.
Liz Royce had three shots with one landing on goal.

Lexi Jares each had two shots apiece with one of them landing on goal.
Mustang goalkeeper Sonya Smith had ten saves while recording her third shutout on the season. Freshman
Shaina Stein for the Wolves had 5 saves.
The Wolves return to action on Saturday Oct. 1 in an 11 a.m. match against University of Minnesota, Crookston, in Crookston, Minn.
