ST. PAUL, Minn. - After ushering in the 2011 season with a non-conference victory in Week 1, the Wolves suffered a Week 2 set-back last Saturday, falling to Minnesota State 32-10 in the opening week of NSIC play. The Wolves now look to get back on track in Week 3, but must go through Concordia-St. Paul in a cross-divisional match-up on the road to do so.
Last Meeting: The Golden Bears racked up 240 yards and three passing touchdowns in a 27-27 win over NSU on Gypsy Days in Aberdeen last season. The Wolves led briefly after a first-quarter touchdown by Montrel Richardson, but two straight CU touchdowns gave the Golden Bears the lead for good.
About Concordia-St. Paul: The Golden Bears sport matching 1-1 overall and 0-1 NSIC marks after suffering a 41-13 loss to then tenth-ranked St. Cloud State last weekend. Quarterback Jared Russo threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns despite also throwing five interceptions in that game.
Head Coach Ryan Williams: Williams is in his first year with the Golden Bears, taking over as the interim head coach in July. Previously, he served as the offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach and recruiting coordinator for six seasons following his collegiate career as the quarterback at NDSU.
Series History: CU owns a 6-4 all-time lead in the series history.
