Aberdeen, S.D. – In a cool and overcast afternoon, the Northern State Wolves (4-14-0, 1-12-0 NSIC) soccer team concluded there season against the University of Mary (11-7-1, 7-5-1NSIC). The visiting Marauders backed by a penalty kick and an assisted through ball beat the Wolves 2-0 on the Wolves Senior Day.
The Marauders received a penalty kick at the 25:03 mark in the first half where Jessica Curl placed the ball passed Wolves goalkeeper
Kourtney Woracek.
With the Wolves trying to prepare a cmeback,
Rachel Goslinga had the best opportunity on the day to tie up the score in the 57th minute where Marauder goalkeeper Ashley Aker got the save.
With time winding down in the 85th minute Alex Bachman-Williams received a through ball from Kelsey Pacpaco, to the left side of the field where Bachman-Williams scored the goal for the 2-0 victory.
The Wolves had three shots on the day with all three coming from
Rachel Goslinga. The Marauders had 11 shots, with six on goal.
Woracek, making her second appearance in goal for the Wolves had four saves while her counterpart Aker had one save.
Today's game concluded the season for the Wolves and the careers of four Wolves players as
Ashley Elliott,
Haley Burns,
Katie Anderson, and
Lexi Jares exhausted their eligibility.
