Moorhead, Minn. – The Northern State Wolves (4-7-0, 1-5-0 NSIC) soccer team gave up an early goal in the first half, tie the game right before the intermission, only to lose the match in the second half against MSU Moorhead in 4-1 score  in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play in Moorhead, Minn.
The Dragons got on the scoreboard just two minutes into the match when Jordyn Wallenborn found the back of the net on an assist from Ashley Swanson.
The match would be a back and forth battle the rest of the first half, when 
Anna Woerle scored her first career goal for the Wolves, effectively breaking a streak of three games without a goal scored. Woerle's goal came in the 44th minute of the first half.
The second half was not as kind for the Wolves. The Dragons were able to score their second goal on a shot from Amanda Wurdeman just over ten minutes into the second period.
The Dragons would tack on two more goals nine minutes later when Ashley Swanson scored an unassisted goal in 65th minute which was immediately followed up by a second goal from Wurdeman.
The Dragons outshot the Wolves 14-8 respectively. The Dragons were able to land nine of their 14 shots on goal while the Wolves had five of their eight be placed within the frame. The Wolves were lead in shots by 
Katie Anderson, who had two shots with one of them landing on goal. Six other Wolves were able to take a shot, including Woerle's goal scored.
The Wolves return to action for Homecoming weekend in a Gypsy Day match on Saturday Oct. 8 in a 11 a.m. match against Minnesota-Duluth at Jerde Field in Aberdeen, S.D.
