Northern State takes second win of weekend at MSU Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn.- The Northern State women's basketball team picked up its second win of the weekend by defeating Minnesota State Moorhead 60-46 this afternoon in Northern Sun Intercollegiate action.
 
NSU improves to 9-5 (6-4 NSIC); MSUM moves to 8-5 (5-4 NSIC).
 
The Wolves never trailed in the match-up and shot 47 percent (21-44) from the field while the MSUM shot just under 27 percent (16-60) on the day.
 
Northern jumped out to a 6-0 lead on the Dragons with two scores from Krista Rabenberg and a jumper from Emily Becken.
 
NSU led by as many as nine in the first half before going into halftime with a seven point, 22-15 lead.
 
Krista Rabenberg led the Wolves at the half with six points and three boards followed by Brittany Euerle and Jacqee Jasinski with three each.
 
Northern went on a 8-5 run in the first minute and 30 seconds of the second half extending its lead to ten. The Dragons would trail by at least ten for the rest of the game.
 
Rabenberg finished with a game-high 14 points and six boards. Jodi Reinschmidt and Becken each contributed ten points.
 
Northern will host its first home games of the new year when they take on Minnesota State, Mankato on Friday at 6 p.m. The Wolves will then play Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday at 6 p.m.
