Northern State dominates Bemidji State, earns 82-64 win

.- A game-high 23 points from Jodi Reinschmidt and team shooting percentage of 57 percent allowed the Northern State women's basketball team to dominate Bemidji State in an 82-64 win Saturday afternoon in Bemidji.

The Wolves extend their win streak to seven games and sit at 14-5 overall and 11-5 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play while BSU moves to 5-14 overall and 2-13 in the NSIC.

NSU jumped out to a 10-0 lead including two baskets from Krista Rabenberg. Bemidji State fought to get within four points twice around the ten-minute-mark, but the Wolves' defense held the Beavers at bay forcing 12 turnovers in the half.

Northern State entered the half with a comfortable 15 point lead and a score of 42-27. Alison Kusler shot 5-6 in the half and added a free-throw to pace the team with 11, while Rabenberg, Reinschmidt and Jenna Higgins each poured in eight.

Not slowing down in the second half, NSU extended their lead to 21 within the first three minutes. BSU's smallest deficit of the half came with about seven minutes left of play when Anna Hebrink hit a three-pointer to put the Beavers behind by just 12 points.

Behind Reinschmidt's 23 point pacer, Rabenberg added 18 points while Higgins finished with 12 and Kusler with 11.

The Wolves return home next weekend to host a pair of NSIC games with MSU Moorhead on Friday and Minnesota, Crookston on Saturday. Tip-off for both is set for 6 p.m.
