MOORHEAD, Minn. –
The Northern State University volleyball committed 25 hitting errors and hit at just a .014 clip on the night as the host Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons avenged an earlier loss to the Wolves with a 3-0 sweep (25-23, 25-22, 25-17) on Saturday in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference volleyball action.

NSU was coming off a three-set sweep of the University of Minnesota, Crookston on Saturday, but slipped to 9-9 overall and 1-8 in conference play.  The Wolves had taken a 3-1 win over the Dragons back on Sept. 10 in non-conference tournament play.  With Saturday's payback win, MSUM improved to 9-8 overall and 5-4 in the league.

The Dragons used 75 digs and nine team blocks to hold the Wolves at bay at the net.  No NSU player reached double figures in kills, as junior Konefesi Vaisigano led the way with eight.  Senior Kayla Ysteboe added six, while senior setter Megan Gilbraith finished with just 15 assists.

The Dragons, in contrast, hit just .146 as a team, but finished with 43 kills to 22 errors on the night.  Heidi Lensing finished with a game-best 10 kills.  Leigh Splittstoesser registered 34 assists and 18 digs, both match highs.

NSU returns home for a single match on Tuesday, hosting UMC in a 7 p.m. match in Wachs Arena before hitting the road again next weekend to face the University of Mary on Saturday.
