ABERDEEN, S.D. –
Less than a day after falling in straight sets to third-ranked Minnesota-Duluth, the Northern State University Wolves rebounded with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-21) blanking of the visiting Bemidji State University Beavers Saturday evening in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference volleyball action.

The Wolves, who are 6-3 in their last nine matches, improved to 14-11 overall and 6-10 in conference play.  BSU slipped to 11-13 on the season and 5-11 in the league.  Saturday's win marked the second of the season over the Beavers, but was just the first meeting between the two teams in conference play.  NSU took a 3-1 victory over the Beavers back on Sept. 10 as part of the Wolves' torrid 7-1 start to the year.

Senior Jordan Schaffer notched 13 kills in the effort, including 11 through the first two sets alone.  Junior Kaili Aiono had 18 of the Wolves' 78 kills, as NSU held the Beavers to just a .077 attack percentage on the night.  Aiono was also in on four of the Wolves' five team blocks.

The Wolves finished the night with five players in double-figure dig totals, including three with an even dozen, while freshman Sami Nygaard recorded nine digs to go along with her 16 assists.  That defensive effort limited BSU to just 31 kills through the three-set match.

The Wolves are back in action next weekend, continuing their four-match homestand with their final home matches of the season.  NSU plays host to Minnesota State, Mankato on Friday and will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday against Southwest Minnesota State.  Friday's match is set for 7 p.m., while Saturday's contest is slated for a 5 p.m. start.
