ABERDEEN, S.D. – With their 72-63 upset win over top-seeded Southwest Minnesota State on Wednesday, the Northern State University men's basketball team advances to the semi-finals of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament and will play fourth-seeded Minnesota State, Mankato at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in Winona, Minn.
The second seed of the post-season tournament, the Winona State Warriors claimed the right to host the semi-final and championship rounds of the tournament due to SMSU's loss and their own win over Concordia-St. Paul.
MSU advances to the semi-finals by virtue of their 101-74 victory over Minnesota-Duluth on Wednesday.
NSU athletic officials have also announced a pre-game gathering of NSU alumni and friends on Saturday at Zaza's beginning at 4 p.m.
