WAYNE, Neb. –
Maggie Fedor scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season, and Summer Swan tallied her second game-winning score of the year as the Northern State University women's soccer team took a 2-1 win road win over the Wayne State College Wildcats Saturday afternoon in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference soccer action.

The win lifts NSU's overall record to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in NSIC play, while WSC remains winless at 0-9-1 on the year and 0-3 in the league.

Fedor needed just four minutes of play to put the Wolves on the board, scoring an unassisted goal from 25 yards out at the 4:08 mark.  The Wildcats responded in the 15th minute when Valerie Robinson put home a penalty kick to even out the score at 1-1.

The score would remain there for the rest of the first half and much of the way through the second half until Swan slammed home an 8-yard shot in front of the goal in the 82nd minute to give the Wolves the 2-1 lead and the win.

NSU was not without its chances for more goals on the day.  The Wolves put up 20 shots in the game, the most they have taken as a team since they took 27 shots in an 8-0 blanking of Mount Marty College on Sept. 13.

The Wolves were also whistled for 10 offsides violations, while racking up a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Defensively, the Wolves held WSC to just two shots in the game, both coming from Moore, a junior defender.  Both shots were on goal, including the first-half penalty kick.

The Wolves will be back in action on Sunday as they take on Augustana College in another NSIC match-up.  NSU will be looking to win two in a row for the first time this season.
