GOLDEN, Colo. – The Northern State University womens' basketball team closed out their participation at the Colorado School of Mines Tournament Sunday and left town with their first win of the 2008-2009 campaign in the form of 63-59 defeat of Colorado Christian.

The Wolves are now 1-1 on the season.
The two teams battled to a 26-26 halftime score with Northern State taking over in the second-half with 11 of 
Lennea Mueller's 13 points coming after the break.  The Wolves committed 22 turnovers in the game, but only seven of them occurred in the second half.
Northern kept their shooting woes from carrying over from Saturday night's game as they shot 42% from the field (24-57) including 12-18 from the free throw line (66.7%).  They still continue to find their groove from the long range as they only connected on 3-10 three point attempts for 30% in the game.  
The Wolves' defense held Colorado Christian to 39% shooting in the game and also forced 20 turnovers.
Sophomore 
Jodi Reinschmidt followed up a stellar performance Saturday with the first double-double of the young season for the Wolves as she recorded 14 points on 5-13 shooting and 12 rebounds (five offensive) in the win.  She also added two assists, one steal, and 4-4 free throw shooting in 29 minutes of action.  Freshman 
Jenna Higgins led the Wolves in scoring, nearly missing a double-double herself, after she recorded a team-high 16 points on 8-13 shooting and nine rebounds.  Junior co-captain 
Lennea Mueller added 13 points (11 in the second half) on 5-7 shooting and two assists and one steal for the Wolves.
The Wolves are next in action Friday, November 21st, when they host Presentation College at the Barnett Center.  Action is slated for a 6:00 p.m. start.
