COMPLETE RESULTS

BROOKINGS, S.D. - Northern State's wrestling team jumped out to an 11-0 lead over South Dakota State on the road before taking an ultimate 18-16 decision.  The win improves the Wolves to 4-3 on the season, while the Jacks stay winless at 0-4.

David Schiley started the Wolves out with a 9-5 decision at the 141-lb. class and improved to 12-7 on the year.  Ryan Larsen (149-lb.) dominated his opponent the entire match and gained a 16-3 major decision, putting NSU up 7-0.  Another major decision gave NSU an 11-0 lead as Dustin Bonn won the 157-lb. class.  Also posting wins for the Wolves was Phillip Downs (174-lb.) and Todd Naasz, who had Northern's third major decision of the dual.

The Jacks made a comeback in the final matches of the evening, winning the final three weight classes and four of the final five.  With their three major decisions, however, the Wolves hung on for the win.

The Wolves return to Wachs Arena to open NSIC action on Wednesday, January 23.  They host MSU Moorhead at Wachs Arena starting at 7:00 p.m.
