WINONA, Minn. - In a stalemate for more than 83 minutes of play, NSU's
Kirsten Saunders broke the game open with a goal against 14th ranked Winona State (9-3-0, 1-1-0 NSIC) on Sunday afternoon. Wolves keeper Catherine Grace shut out the Warriors as her team gained the 1-0 win. The Wolves bring an 8-3-2 overall and 1-0-1 NSIC record back to Jerde Field, where they will play this Saturday and Sunday.
The meeting on the pitch went scoreless through the first half and just nine total shots were fired, including two by the Wolves. Winona State took 16 total shots in the game while the Wolves took three. While NSU had only one shot on goal in the 90 minutes of play, it was all they needed to take the win. Grace made four saves in the game as she marked her second complete shutout of the season. Saunders' goal was her second of the season. She was assisted by

The Wolves host Wayne State this Gypsy Days Saturday at 11:30 am at Jerde Field. Sunday is Fan Appreciation Day as NSU hosts Southwest Minnesota State at 1:00 pm. There will be free hot dogs and pop at this game for all attending fans.
