GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Northern State freshman Kendra Titze booted in a game-winning goal during the second overtime Tuesday night against Colorado Christian. The goal was the first in Titze's collegiate career and gave the Wolves a 2-1 victory.

After CCU scored the first goal of the game in the first half, the Wolves tied the dual up at one goal each at the 57:35 mark. Kirsten Saunders (R-Fr., Englewood, Colo.) fed Maggie Fedor (Fr., Monticello, Minn.) who headed the ball past the CCU keeper. The game remained knotted up through the end of regulation and the first overtime period. The game broke open at the 104-minute mark as Alisha Martinez (So., Westmister, Colo.) fed KaSara Sutton (Fr., Aberdeen) for a shot on goal. CCU keeper Alison Cox blocked the ball from the net, and NSU's Titze swooped in for the rebound goal.

The Wolves took 19 shots in the game, with nine going on goal. CCU managed 12 shots and five on goal. Freshman Dee Wood (Bothell, Wash.) secured the net and earned her first collegiate win as a goal keeper.

The win brings the Wolves back to Aberdeen with a winning record of 2-1 on the season. Colorado Christian goes to 0-1 after the season-opening loss. The Wolves bring their game to Aberdeen's own Jerde Field for a set of games this holiday weekend. They host Jamestown College in a home opener on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 5:00 pm. A much-anticipated Midnight Madness game will be played the evening of Sunday, Sept. 2, with the action starting at 11:30 pm against Dakota Wesleyan.
